Steve has been fishing since the young age of 8 and caught his first Steelhead when he was 10 years old. Ever since that day he has been hooked and has been chasing Steelhead, Salmon, Sturgeon and Walleye since that day. He would run up and down the banks of the Washougal river, Kalama River , east Fork Lewis river and the Klicktat River chasing salmon and Steelhead. His neighbor Bert Shockey would take him out on the Columbia River for Sturgeon when he was 7 years old since Bert’s sons never liked to fish. Steve had A older friend that had his driver’s license and would take him Steelhead fishing from a Drift boat which is used on the smaller rivers where motorized boats are not allowed before he could drive at the age of 15. He was hooked after that day once he had the experience of fishing from a drift boat. Since then he has purchased 2 drift boats and 4 different jet boats up grading as the years went on. Today, Steve is running a beautiful state of the art 24’ Alumaweld jets Sled that fishes 6 anglers comfortably and is powered by a 250 Yamaha four stroke motor.
Steve lives in his home town Washougal Washington which is in the heart of some of the best Salmon, Steelhead, Sturgeon, Small mouth Bass, Walleye and Kokanee fishing that the pacific NW has to offer. Steve started part time guiding in 1993 at the young age of 22. His passion was always to be a fishing/Hunting guide and In the year 2000 he went into fulltime guiding. Since then, He has went back to mariner school to upgrade his Coast Guard license to a 50 ton masters License which allowed him to expand his service from just guiding in Washington and the Columbia River to guiding in Oregon along with some Ocean fishing for Salmon.
